He stated that the MoD is “investigating” cars from China within its fleets, but emphasised that safety is a concern in every modern vehicles.

Our department has a collection of thousands of cars in the MoD and those vehicles account for a very small number.
But whether you’re driving a Chinese car or a non-Chinese car, what we’ve asked our staff is to avoid connecting Ministry of Defence technology into their vehicle, not to have conversations at a secret classification in any vehicle, because of the growing risks of surveillance that are present in every single automobile, to only have those secret conversations in protected areas. This is a prudent and sensible thing for anyone worried about security.

After it was suggested that it would be wise for the MoD to stop using every cars from China, the minister replied: That is exactly what we are looking into at the moment.”
